Sally Grundy is one of the 5th generation of the Grundy Family on Mundoo Island Station in the Coorong. The family run a commercial Angus herd, Dorper sheep and Arab x Australian Stockhorses and also offer a range of tourism opportunities to enable locals and visitors to the region the ability to enjoy the unique environment that encompasses the saltwater of the Coorong on one side of their islands and the freshwater of the River Murray on the other.
Mundoo Island Station Tourism offers farmstay, Coorong camping, bird watching tours (very popular during the migratory bird months of October to April), historic station tours, photography tours and workshops, school group and special interest group visits, coach tour bookings and kayak & SUP hire for their farmstay and camping guests.
The property has beautiful wetlands which have varied species of flora and fauna at different times of the year and farmstay and camping guests enjoy the peace and tranquility of secluded island life. Nature in its purest form!
Mundoo Station also undertake many surveys throughout the year as they have critically endangered and vulnerable species on the property. Some of the surveys they undertake include Orange-bellied parrots, White bellied sea eagles, Australasian bittern, migratory shorebirds, waterfowl, Southern bell frog, general frog surveys, tadpoles, fish, turtles, bats and feathers! Their unique environment is host to many species.
Three of the five barrages traverse the property and there is no public access to the islands.
