Hello! My name is Liz Haywood and I’m a former fashion industry patternmaker. I now live in Clare and create zero waste sewing patterns for people to use at home.
A zero waste pattern uses 100% of the fabric, with no scraps or waste; the pieces are designed to fit together like a giant jigsaw puzzle (without neglecting fit and appearance!). The patterns are size inclusive and are sold as digital pdf downloads.
I’m the author of two award-winning sewing books, The Dressmaker’s Companion and Zero Waste Sewing, which are available direct from me within Australia or via online or bricks-and-mortar bookshops worldwide.
Each week I write a post on my blog, The Craft of Clothes, on all things sewing and fashion.
Pre-covid I ran pop-up sewing classes here in Clare, and may return to in-person sewing workshops in the future.
