True story!  \nAt our dinner the guest speaker will be Chioma Amaechi\, Principal of CA Legal and Migration in Loxton.  \nChioma was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court in Nigeria in 2000 and the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2015.  She also holds a Diploma in Financial Planning\, and is a registered migration agent.  A migrant from Nigeria\, Chioma loves living in the Riverland and has a particular passion for assisting women in business\, local business owners and also those who have migrated to Australia to achieve their goals.  \nChioma will talk with us about the things in life we never get to do – succession planning in life and business. She will also tell us a bit about herself\, share some ideas\, laugh and make some beautiful connections with each other. She will talk about some of what to do and what not to do while we still can. \nUp for grabs on the night will be a copy of  the book “Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable” by Seth Godin. DESCRIPTION:Join the Women in Business Regional Network for its online dinner\, Thu 18 March  via Zoom with our presenter Sharon McGann.\n\n\nTHIS IS AN ONLINE DINNER EVENT \nGrant Writing revisited and setting up to receive notifications \nGrants and proposals are a numbers game – you win some\, you lose some – and you’ve got to play the game regularly to get good at it.  We looked at Grant Writing in October last year at our sold out online dinner and we are revisiting the topic at this online dinner event with Sharon McGann M.Ed (Adult Ed)\, B Bus. There’s lots of hints and tips around on how to write grants\, some key factors that make a difference and we will also look at how to set up notifications in GrantGuru.   \nSharon is an experienced facilitator\, adult educator and coach who is passionate about collaborating and creating the types of community and businesses we want to live in and work with – where considering people\, the planet and purpose contributes to sufficient profit and an enjoyable lifestyle. Sharon has won two grants this year and is currently applying for a third in her volunteer role as Chair of the Onkaparinga Food Security Collaborative. In her business ‘A Passion for Results’\, she has also succeeded with a number of business proposals for cross-sectoral programs\, including one for co-mentoring between business and community leaders.   \nThe function is open to all women in business – members and non-members\, those who manage\, own or work in a business or those who think they’d like to be in business. \nAt our online functions we’re aiming to allow participants to get the feel of our usual physical functions so\, where possible\, you will have the chance to introduce yourself and give a very quick summary of what you do and where you’re from. You’ll be able to ask questions during the function. \nOn entering the virtual function your microphone will be muted and we ask that you only unmute it when you wish to speak to avoid interference. \nYou can choose to join us with your video on or off. You will be sent a link to join the event. DESCRIPTION:The Kadina Women in Business dinner on Mon 19  April\, focuses on “What Lived Experience can teach us about ourselves” with Cheryl Bruce.\n\n\nWomen in Business Regional Network dinner – Kadina – Mon 19 April \nJoin us at our Kadina dinner at the Royal Exchange Hotel where Port Pirie member Cheryl Bruce will take us on a journey of how her school of life hurdles built an internal strength of perseverance and courage which drew out unexplored creativity to open new opportunities.  \nAlthough Cheryl’s hurdles have been in her private life\, her story of resilience and overcoming adversity will provide great lessons for all of us in business\, particularly as we navigate the post-2020 world. \nCheryl has enjoyed most of her working life in the finance sector. In recent years she has been a volunteer in a community law firm and has spent six years with Australian Red Cross where she currently works. It was during these volunteering years that Cheryl had personal experiences through her son in the justice system\, paraplegia and suicide ideologies\, whilst supporting her partner and his experience with dementia.
