The following are points from a workshop held on problem solving at Encounter Bay Bowling Club on May 30, 2018.

Not Enough Time in the Day

  • Implement systems for time management
  • Make a to do list for the day and week
  • Set a time limit for each task i.e. Time block each task
  • Have a plan – plan your day – build in extra time which gives you flexibility if things go wrong.
  • Set boundaries – Learn how to say NO
  • Outsource or delegate anything you are unable to do or tasks you find difficult or overly time consuming
  • Unsubscribe to emails you really don’t want or ever get to
  • Write in pencil in a diary so you can be flexible
  • Be a little flexible, as sometimes its more stressful when we try to strictly follow schedules
  • Have time set aside for emergencies
  • Allocate time for proper breaks
  • Colour code your calendar – Urgent – Medium – Tick of completed
  • Put life into boxes too to ensure things get done
  • Prioritise well as this is often the biggest problem
  • Set achievable goals
  • Take time to switch off, rejuvenate
  • Concentrate on getting it right the first time
  • Don’t be too hard on yourself
  • Keep positive
  • Set time aside to plan, organise.
