Port Pirie lunch – Women in Business Regional Network – Tue 28/9/2021
September 28 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm ACST
Women in Business lunch – Port Pirie – Tuesday 28 September – Black Pig Cafe at the Fam Hotel in Port Pirie – 12noon
“What Lived experience can teach us about ourselves”
Join us for our Port Pirie lunch when local member member Cheryl Bruce will take us on a journey of how her school of life hurdles built an internal strength of perseverance and courage which drew out unexplored creativity to open new opportunities.
Although Cheryl’s hurdles have been in her private life, her story of resilience and overcoming adversity will provide great lessons for all of us in business, particularly as we navigate the post-2020 world.
Cheryl has enjoyed most of her working life in the finance sector. In recent years she has been a volunteer in a community law firm and has spent six years with Australian Red Cross where she currently works. It was during these volunteering years that Cheryl had personal experiences through her son in the justice system, paraplegia and suicide ideologies, whilst supporting her partner and his experience with dementia. Her story may contain triggers for some, so please, be mindful of yourself if any of her topics may be confronting for you.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues or needs crisis support please contact one of the following organisations: Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636, Lifeline 13 11 14 or Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800.
Our functions are open to all women in business – members and non-members, those who manage, own or work in a business or those who think they’d like to be in business.
