Setting and achieving goals was the focus for the first Women in Business Regional Network functions for 2020.
Stephanie Altus from 1 Big Goal was the guest speaker at McLaren Vale and Victor Harbor in January sharing her story of how she overcome significant mental and physical challenges to achieve goals.
Stephanie, a foundation member of the network, has written a book My Faded Uniform, telling the story of the challenges she’s faced dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as through her employment in the emergency services. The book also serves to provide tips for others dealing with the issue.
In 2018 Stephanie walked the Camino Trail alone from France to Spain and, in the process, raised funds for the Blackdog Institute. Much of the money raised from the sale of her book has also been channelled into causes supporting those with PTSD.
Now she’s looking forward to helping others achieve their one big goal through the launch of online programs and support groups.
The next Victor Harbor dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at the Grosvenor Hotel when a representative from nbn™ Local will be speaking about how to get the most out of your internet connection for business and will be fielding questions and concerns about the nbn™ system.
On Wednesday, February 12 the network is off to lunch at Magpie Springs Winery and Gallery at Hope Forest to talk work/life balance.
