Wearing the right clothing for your brand and the function you’re attending was the focus for a personal styling presentation at the Women in Business Regional Network lunch in Victor Harbor.
Network member Jo Puplett from Elevate Your Look at Moana motivated attendees to go home and assess the clothes in their wardrobe against their purpose, whether they were on trend or whether they still fitted.
“Did you know that 85 per cent of women have clothes in their wardrobe they will never wear?” Jo said.
“We have seven seconds to make a first impression, so you want to make sure your look is in keeping with your brand and the message you’re trying to convey.”
She encouraged the women to find their signature style by thinking about their personality as well as their business.
“It’s important that we’re also authentic to ourselves in what we wear,” Jo said.
She presented her four step method to saving time and money while still having a look and style that was suitable for the occasion.
The network will be returning to Victor Harbor on Monday, October 14 for lunch when a senior representative from Skilling SA will be speaking about employment and training opportunities with a special focus on apprentices and trainees.
The next dinner at Victor Harbor will be held on Thursday, October 31 when Mark Przibilla from the City of Victor Harbor will be speaking about the Victor Harbor economy – where we’re at and the challenges & opportunities ahead.
