Susanna Philbey helps women plan for their freedom years.
Based in Wallaroo on Yorke Peninsula, Susanna has a passion for wanting to see people plan for the time after their traditional work-life ends, so they can make the most of the time they have.
She’s quick to point out her work is not about financial planning, but more about looking at life directions so we don’t wake up one day and find we wished we had done more, or had planned ahead to enjoy such an important time of our lives.
Susanna is one of our most supportive members, always uplifting and supporting those around her.
We asked her a few questions to find out more about Susanna’s business, and her background.
What does your business do or offer? I support women to think about what they want in retirement and to help them plan for it, through a course and conversation-based platform.
What’s the best business advice you’ve ever been given? Just be yourself when connecting with people, in every which way!
What is one important lesson you’ve learned in business? To not be afraid of asking and offering support.
Tell us a fact about you that most people wouldn’t know: I like sports cars!
What did you do before becoming a woman in business? I have always been a women in business through the family farming and earthmoving businesses, but I previously had my own business as a Support Co-ordinator, for participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
What are your interests, or what do you do to maintain a work/life balance? I do yoga and coffee!! ….and I like gardening, maintaining our vineyard, being a volunteer on a board and socialising with family and friends.
What made you join the network? I was looking for connection with other like minded people and saw an ad in the local paper. I have found this group to be very supportive and inclusive. It also offers me an opportunity to advertise, support other women, learn and have some lovely online chats.
