JaDs Hairdressers doing their bit for a cause

Victor Harbor’s Taryn Richardson is proving that there’s more to business than just making money; they can also do a lot to raise awareness and money for some causes close to our hearts.

Taryn’s business, JaDs Hairdressers, has recently been involved in fundraising for two causes – the Charlie Teo Foundation raising funds for brain cancer research and now they’re helping Ovarian Cancer Australia.

In March the salon was part of Charlie’s Angels, an initiative between the Australian Hairdressing Council, The Journal magazine and the Charlie Teo Foundation, raising money for brain cancer research.

Over 300 salons Australia wide participated.

“Our clients supported this so well and we managed to raise a whopping $1197,” a proud Taryn said.

“A gigantic cheque was presented to Charlie Teo at the recent Australia Hair Fashion Awards for over $70k.”

Now the salon team is getting behind the Pureology Painting the Town Teal campaign.

The hair product brand Pureology was partly created 20 years ago to provide a safe “no nasties” product for women who had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Last year more than 150 salons raised over $12,000 for Ovarian Cancer Australia and this year JaDs Hairdressers is one of the participants.

On Wednesday, May 8, the salon will be hosting a special fundraising day, including Krispy Kreme donuts and $5 Pureology superfood treatments.

If you want to support the cause JaDs Hairdressers is located at 57 Torrens Street, Victor Harbor.
