What area do you serve? Australia wide

How long have you been in business? Hobby business 7 years; registered full time business since July 2021

Did you found the business? Yes

Please provide up to 5 dot points about your business journey:

1. Started as an artist and morphed into current business over 7 years and is inspired by my late grandmothers both of whom were artists/creators.

2. Decided to focus full time on my business in June 2021 and have turned it into a successful online and market based business.

3. The largest part of my business, the earrings, was an accidental addition to the business as a way of reducing waste. It is now the main income source.

4. Owning a business has helped me to take more risks and to trust my gut/instincts more.

5. I am currently starting up a second business (online only) based on what I’ve learnt from Art by Sophia

Name two things you’ve learned from your business journey?

  1. Publicity is a crucial element to success.
  2. Back yourself and don’t worry about what others say or think about you – there will always be some one waiting to knock you down but there’s thousands of people (online) willing to support you.

Why did you join the Women in Business Network? Accidental attendance at a workshop and I liked the feel of the group and content.
