Carolyn Brow from Myponga is the first specialist nail and beauty salon to join the membership of the Women in Business Regional Network.
The following is her profile:
Name: Carolyn Brow
Business: Pink Perfection Nails and Beauty
Location: 30 Verde Drive, Myponga
Phone: 0400 113 407
What does the business do?: Waxing, facials, tanning, eyelash lifts, extensions and tinting, manicures, pedicures, SNS nails, gel extensions, polish and shellac. I’m currently training to do acrylic nails.
The business is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.30am-8pm; Thursday 9.30am-4.30pm and Saturday 10am-7pm.
Background: I studied at Heather Langton Beauty Academy in 2018 and opened my home salon on December 13, 2018. I pride myself in providing a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for my clients and always strive to ensure that my clients leave feeling pampered and happy with the service they have received.
Prior to starting my business I cared for my mother who lived with me for 28 years. For five years of that time she suffered dementia, so I gave up my job as an invoice clerk at Big W Seaford to care for her full time.
I also assist my daughter, who is a single parent and a nurse to look after my five-year-old grandson and eight-year-old granddaughter.
What have you learned from your business journey? Although my journey in business has been only five months I have learned to try not to doubt myself and my abilities to attain the high standards that I set for myself, being a perfectionist this is something I struggle with in all aspects of my life!
I have had the pleasure of meeting some lovely people and am always trying to learn new ways to promote myself and my business to gain new clients.
Why did you join the network: To gain support and insight into the world of business.
