Victor Harbor’s Elizabeth Ellis has always had a passion for home styling,
but it wasn’t until recently that she decided to take her passion to the next level.
She undertook a Staging Diva course with a view to home styling for those looking to sell their homes, but when COVID-19 hit she saw a new opportunity as people were having to spend more time in their homes.
She founded Elevation Home Styling.
“I want to help people love the home they’re in and use what they have with minimum input and expenses,” Elizabeth said.
“I help people work with the space they have by reconfiguring; help them identify their style and work with them to clear the clutter and reuse the space in a better way.”
Her home styling business is being operated alongside her other business Vital Touch Massage Therapy which she started in 2012.
A fully qualified massage therapist through the Australian College of Massage, Elizabeth’s business offers services in Victor Harbor and Normanville.
Elizabeth’s history in business stretches back to the age of 24 and has covered a vast range including a hardware store, retail clothing and a B&B.
She has lived by the philosophy “make your vocation your vacation” and has had 16 different vocations and lived in many regions in SA, having been born and raised in WA. She has also lived and worked in Denmark and Canada.
In terms of what she’s learned along the way:
“Every vocation you choose, even if it’s originally not what you’re looking for, is never wasted as it leads to the next and the next,” she says.
“You create networks and life experience to enhance the next vocation.
“It’s important to love what you do. It’s quite healthy to switch vocations and expand yourself.
“I believe in taking risks.”
She joined the network to meet like-minded women who love what they do and to help promote others and share cross-way promotion of one another.
“It’s a good opportunity to meet new people.”
